The school’s guidance services was able to facilitate the seminar on Parenting for Generation Z for guardians and parents last March 6, 2020 just a week before the Covid19 lockdown was declared for all schools in the city. The said Parenting Seminar was in collaboration with the ShiftAvenue Team led by Ms. Angelique Veronica “AV” Bucu and Mr. Edgar Patayon where they were able to identify that the biggest challenge for most parents, if not all, was that they always want what is best for their children but not every parent knows how to provide their child with the right tools to be successful, or how to help them avoid the biggest adolescent behavior challenges in school, at home with their peers and environment specially with the fastest and ever evolving technology nowadays. They came up with these General Objectives: (1) For parents to understand the behaviors and interests of their child who are all under the “screen generation” or Generation Z (2) For parents to know and value the importance of honesty, empathy, respect, responsibility, perseverance and all other values and understand that these should start at home (3) For the parents to learn and be able to practice tools that can help them support their kids towards success in their individual endeavors, to fear and love God above all! They have this warm-up activity dubbed as “Dreams and Aspiration before they have the Introduction of the Generation Z and all other Generations before them. The different Personality Types were also tackled and how to deal with each types, to have the essential values to succeed and Career Pathing. The Seminar was very rewarding because of the active participation of the parents and guardians and the positive feedbacks from their submitted Evaluation Survey.
